Amsterdam In-Person Training: Observability with ClickStack

Date: April 8, 2026
Time: 9:00AM CEST
Duration: 8 hours
Location: ClickHouse Office - Vijzelstraat 79, 1017 HG Amsterdam (2nd floor), Netherlands
Cost: FREE
Format: Instructor-led training with hands-on labs

What you’ll learn: In this full-day, hands-on workshop, participants will deploy and operate a complete observability stack using ClickHouse, OpenTelemetry, and HyperDX. You will ingest and correlate logs, metrics, and application data, exploring powerful querying techniques through both SQL and Lucene-based syntax in the UI.
Building on that foundation, you will customize your ClickStack deployment by understanding key ClickHouse internals and tuning primary keys, partitions, and schema design. You will practice schema-on-write and schema-on-read approaches, implement materialized views and skipping indexes to improve performance, and configure alerting.
Finally, you will optimize data ingestion through ClickHouse and the OpenTelemetry Collector, configure data processing and security, and learn when to scale vertically versus horizontally. The course concludes with deploying a multi-region ClickStack cluster and integrating external tools such as Grafana and AI agents to build a production-grade observability platform.

By the end of this session: you’ll have deployed and optimized ClickStack, ingested real telemetry data, and queried it using SQL and natural-language tools. Perfect for observability engineers, DevOps, SREs, and developers who want to build or scale their observability platforms. We will end the training with an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session. You will also become a ClickHouse Observability Professional after passing the quiz at the end of the training.

There will be both instructor-led training and hands-on labs. The material is presented in modules and will include:

Module 1: Introduction to ClickStack
Module 2: Inserting Data
Module 3: Visualizing Data
Module 4: ClickHouse Architecture
Module 5: Schema Design
Module 6: Query Acceleration Techniques
Module 7: Alerting
Module 8: Improving Data Ingestion
Module 9: ClickHouse Cluster Architecture
Module 10: Analyzing Observability Data
